SBT Launches Our Summer Fundraiser 2019 on Memorial Day: Our Goal is $22,000!

There are many ways to help us reach our goal.

Over the past year, we have had over 150 veterans, military spouses, and caregivers pass through our 12 session coaching program. In addition to coaching and connecting them to fulfilling jobs matching their skills and values, we’ve helped many start new businesses or decide to pursue degrees or certifications for new careers.

Having a transition plan, specific goals, and an encouraging coach by one’s side makes a world of difference to a veteran. It helps combat the isolation many feel when their buddies are no longer with them, and helps restore self-confidence which is essential when seeking a new job or career.

We need your help to continue our plans to help more veterans than ever before! Our goal is to raise $22,000 between Memorial Day and Labor Day. We must call attention to the distressing fact that 22 veterans commit suicide every day, a number which cries out to be eradicated. SBT needs to expand our administrative staff, broaden our outreach efforts, and create a lasting infrastructure to carry on for years to come. Can you help us reach our goal?

Please give whatever you can to support SBT's mission to coach and connect America's military veterans and their spouses and caregivers to achieve success at home, at work, and in the community. We are making a difference! We can do much more with your continued support!

SBT Partners with Blue Star Families

On a beautiful spring afternoon in NYC

on May 18th, six SBT coaches came from across the tri-state area to join military spouses from Blue Star Families at the Rubin Museum of Art. We were given a private tour by Laura Sloan, of the exhibit "Women and Power." After discussing the exhibit, we had an opportunity to inform the assembled group of spouses, veterans, and caregivers about our free coaching program. One veteran participant who is also a military spouse and a caregiver signed up for our coaching program the very same day, and others followed since!

We're grateful to Marie-Roker Jones and her successor NYC Blue Star Families Chapter Director Allyson Harasimowicz for bringing such a wonderful group together! Thanks Laura Sloan and the Rubin Museum of Art, for the fantastic tour and hospitality! A big thank you to our SBT coaches Randy Chase, Sheila Wall, Jennifer Malach, Jennifer Hanawald, and Lillian Velez for joining our CEO Stephanie Richmond for this fun day.

SBT Coaches at HOH Event For Military Spouses in Phoenix

Thank you to four of our SBT coaches in Phoenix who participated in an AMPLIFY/Hiring Our Heroes event for military spouses, held at USAA headquarters on April 26, 2019. Thank you to Linda Burridge from ICF Phoenix who led a branding workshop. Amanda Crowe, the Hiring Our Heroes spokesperson, expressed gratitude to SBT for our participation in this event.

Here is her message:

"It truly was invaluable, and I know the spouses benefited greatly from the one-on-one coaching sessions and also from the personal branding presentation given by Linda."

We are planning on participating in another AMPLIFY/HiringOurHeroes event, this time in DC in September. If any SBT coaches from DC, MD, or VA are interested, let Stephanie know and she will add you to the list!

Kim Graham represents SBT for Two Speaking Engagements

SBT was invited to present to the USNR/USMCR Psychological Health and Outreach

Program (PHOP) on, February 21, 2019. This event is part of PHOP’S monthly resource awareness teleconference. Representing SBT at PHOP was Kim Graham, Marine veteran, SBT coach & SBT Board Secretary. The lead outreach coordinator of PHOP, Kellie Aguilera, was impressed by Kim's presentation and is excited to use SBT as a resource for PHOP's clients/service members. Aguilera reported back: "We definitely had more questions than usual which indicates to me that everyone was really engaged and interested in utilizing Stand Beside Them.”

Kim will also represent SBT on June 1 before the 171st Air Refueling Wing, Pennsylvania Air National Guard. Kim, we are proud to have you representing SBT! Thanks so much!
