Executive Director

Stand Beside Them, Inc. (SBT), a 501c3 national nonprofit organization, is looking for a dynamic Executive Director with the drive and dedication to lead our organization into the future. This critical role is ideal for an outgoing, resourceful person who enjoys leading and being personally involved in all aspects of a growing nonprofit with a continuously expanding base of volunteers, Pro Bono coaches, and recipients of our services (i.e., veterans, military spouses, and caregivers).

Stand Beside Them, Inc. (SBT)

Our nonprofit’s mission is to coach and empower America's veterans, spouses, and caregivers to achieve success at home, at work, and in the community. Our vision is that NO Veteran will ever feel stuck when returning to civilian life. Stand Beside Them, Inc. was born out of the recognition that veterans returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan needed more support than was available to them.

Even though we are no longer actively at war, there will still be approximately 200,000 men and women annually transitioning back into civilian life. In a recent poll, sixty-six percent of post 9/11 Veterans said that readjustment to civilian life was difficult.

We match veterans, spouses, and caregivers with a coach from our network to provide them with assistance on a particular issue important to their well-being. Because our coaches have a wide range of specialties (career, executive and leadership development, life and relationships, health and wellness, and small business planning), we can provide targeted expertise and support to coachees.

Established in 2013, Stand Beside Them launched with 8 Coaches in New York and the District of Columbia. SBT now has over 210 coaches in 33 states, all holding their certifications or credentials from International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited programs. Over 40 of our coaches have served in the military prior to becoming a coach. To date, SBT coaches have given free coaching assistance to over 2000 veterans, spouses, and caregivers. Our coaching services are always provided at no charge to the coachee.

In addition to our coaching programs, we work closely with other veteran service organizations around the country and support veteran recruitment and retention efforts by corporations.

The Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for SBT’s staff, programs, partnerships, and expansion, always focused on executing the mission.
